I pick at scabs & pinch at bruises

but I didn't cause them, so

I kick and kick and wail and scream

causing a scene, fighting back,

but they're the ones who hurt me first so

as I bite your hand, too,

The very hand that breaks for me.

I'll bend you backwards as I throw

a fit, but I'm injured, so

it's okay, right?

I depend on the very shoes that

bend and break my feet

for who am I but a

young girl who begs others for

ointment?

I pick at others & pinch myself

but it's not my fault, so
