MY FAVORITE ARTISTS AS OF RECENT *

Recent Being: 11/04/22, not in any particular order. Just things I listen to a lot.

Sunny Day Real Estate
SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE

I love rock. I love this band. I love their songs "Circles", "Seven", "Killed By An Angel", and "Pillars". I don't think you understand the absolute grip that this band has on me. I love them.

Interpol
INTERPOL

I really like this band. Favorite songs are "Obstacle 1", "Untitled", "Stella was a diver and she was always down", and "Evil".

WEEZER
WEEZER

I really like Weezer. It is not even a joke, I just really like their music. Rest in peace Matt. Blue album is amazing, I also like "Pink Triangle", "Back to the Shack", "I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams", and "Pork and Beans". Good stuff.

Green Day
GREEN DAY

Not the hugest fan of Green Day, as their music can get repetative for me and give me a headache after a while, but I have Nimrod on CD and I really like all of that album. I also like "Stray Heart", "Brain Stew", "Walking Contradiction", and "Nuclear Family".

American Football
AMERICAN FOOTBALL

I really adore American Football. Never Meant, Untitled #3, Stay Home, For Sure, are all so beautiful. I love guitar. I love this band. Soft, rock, guitar. What more do you need?

The Internet
THE INTERNET

The Internet, an RNB/hip hop/EDM band, is one of my favorites. I really like their songs "Special Affair", "Palace/Curse", "Come Over", "Famous", and more, and I just really love this band :>) Highly recommend.

Flyleaf
FLYLEAF

I really life Flyleaf. I am not Christian myself, but it does not matter because their style of song is so beautiful. I really like "I'm So Sick" and "Fully Alive". I will play these songs on repeat until the day is over.

Whirr
WHIRR

The Whirr/Nothing split EP is something that I would probably bury within my grave if I could, in CD form. I love ALL of the songs on this, even if it's only 4, and recently bought a shirt based on one of the songs off of here. All of these are really good, I would listen to this for the rest of my life if I could. I love shoegaze so much.

Glass Jaw
GLASS JAW

Glass Jaw is a really good rock band. Our Color Green is really good, and second is Worship And Tribute. My favorite songs are "You Think You're (John Fucking Lennon", Greatest song of theirs of all time, "All Good Junkies Go To Heaven", "Ape Dos Mil", "Trailer Park Jesus", "Tip Your Bartender" are also all good. I love listening to their music. Love it a lot.

Basement
BASEMENT

This is a REALLY good rock band. Colormeinkindness is my favorite album of theirs yet, but I'll update if that changes. Favorite songs are "Covet", "Are You the One", "Oversized", and "Whole". Highly recommend.

Jimmy Eat World
JIMMY EAT WORLD

I really love Jimmy Eat World. Their song "Sweetness" feels so strong to my core, it feels truly me. I love it so much. 5 stars, top of my list, whatever highest ranking I can give. I like the rest of Bleed American as well, but that's just my favorite song. It always sounds good every time I hear it. It sounds so real. So true.

Incubus
INCUBUS

I actually have A Crow Left of the Murder on CD, and I listen to it pretty regularly in my car. My favorites off of that album are "Talk Shows on Mute", "Agoraphobia", "Southern Girl". I also really like "Dig", "Drive", "Pardon Me", "Warning", and "Stellar". Really love their sound, highly recommend checking them out if you like normal rock or something.

Before Today
BEFORE TODAY

Before Today is basically Pierce the Veil before Pierce the Veil existed. Still containing Mike and Vic fuentes, their sound is a bit more raw and I still really like the vocals and instruments. I really like the songs "Pierce the Veil", "Color Your World", and "The Process of Losing and Gaining".

Sprung Monkey
SPRUNG MONKEY

I have this CD in my car, I got it because of the font and funny face on it, but Mr. Funny Face is one of the best albums I have accidentally stumbled upon in a long time. I love all of it, especially the beginning 2-3 songs, and that one about pretty little brown eyes. Such an amazing piece of work.

Sonder
SONDER

I really love his music. It touches my heart so deeply. I got into his music by "What You Heard", which remains my favorite song of all time, but I have since branched out into enjoying other songs such as "Too Fast", "Nobody But You", and "One Night Only". Really good, relaxing, potentially RNB.

Get Scared
GET SCARED

I LOVE "shitty" screamo music. So good. I only really like "Don't You Dare Forget The Sun" and "Sarcasm". I love being a poser and cherrypicking what I enjoy. Life is better that way.

Hail The Sun
HAIL THE SUN

LOVE this band. Some really good bangers. Along the same lines as Dance Gavin Dance, Tides of Man, and the like. Fav songs in order are "Ow! (Splidao) [I Like It, Though]", "Rolling Out The Red Carpet", "Human Target Practice", etc. Really good, reminds me of windy spring car rides speeding down the road. Such a good sound and it will probably be held dear to my heart for quite some time.

Conflicts
CONFLICTS

This is a harder band, again, bad at labels. My brother actually helped to start this band with some of his friends in highschool, and there was eventually a falling out. I think that he had a job that was different scheduling than what was necessary or didn't like the direction it was going in, but since his leaving their sound has gotten far better and more consistent (he agrees with this). I like "Heart of Darkness", "Transitions", and "The Wayfarer".

Kurt Travis
KURT TRAVIS

Kurt Travis is an exceptional singer, usually I don't like soft sad songs, but he does it in a way that is actually bearable (That sounded overly negative, but I do really like his music when I'm in the mood for it. Really good stuff. I like the songs "Everything Is Horrible", and "It's All Over", "Still Won't Listen".

Circa Survive
CIRCA SURVIVE

This is a really good band. Love Anthony Green, hoping in recent events that he didn't do some shitty thing. I really like some of their music, though. Especially "Stop the Fucking Car".

Isles and Glaciers
ISLES AND GLACIERS

Superband with Vic Fuentes as a vocalist and some other really cool guy in it. I really like their song "clush", it is almost all I listen to by them. Good stuff.

Superheaven
SUPERHEAVEN

Really good band, maybe shoegaze, I don't know genres. They are really good. I really like life in a jar, poor aileen, in on it, and basically the entire album of "Jar". "Ours is Chrome" is also really good. Highly recommend.

DEFTONES
DEFTONES

Deftones, as of 5/22/21, is one of my favorite artists at the moment. I really enjoy their soft sound mixed with hard vocals and background, it's the perfect mix of being "hardcore" without being too much when I want to chill out. I also really enjoy the emotion and range that the vocalists have, and I can find myself listening to different songs for different emotions or feelings I want to exude that day. It's really nice!

My favorite songs are currently Change, Cherry Waves, and Sextape, and as of 11/4/22, my favorite songs are Fireal, 7 Words, Street Carp, Lotion, Phantom Bride, Knife Prty, and Pink Maggit.

DEALER
DEALER

Dealer is an amazing (not so amazing) nu metalcore band that I absolutely adore. My favorite songs of theirs include (in order), 1. Ultima Death 2. Grotesque 3. Crooked 4. Pretty Stupid 5. Violent Stimuli. I think I would sell limbs in order to get ahold of Soul Burn in CD format. I would cry tears of joy. I would do almost anything to get that album in any physical context. Ultima Death is my favorite of all time because the ending of it breaks my heart and makes me feel free. I know this is dramatic, but the ending of that song is so different than the rest of their songs it makes me joyous. It is so beautifully melancholy that it just sticks out like a sore thumb. Sometimes I just listen to it on repeat. I also really like their guitar and djedjedjent shit going on.

ANTHONY GREEN
ANTHONY GREEN

Anthony Green is an artist that I really adore. My favorite songs of his are Don't Dance, You'll Be Fine, East Coast Winters, Miracle Sun, and Right Outside. He has the vocals, guitar, and intensity of emotional music. Not emo, just emotional.

BALANCE AND COMPOSURE
BALANCE AND COMPOSURE

Chill. Really good. Like shoegaze and rock, almost. I really like "Midnight Zone", "Tiny Raindrop", "Notice Me", "Void", and "Quake". I really like tiny raindrop. I'll listen to these people sometimes, but I really like them. Cannot stress that enough. Balance and Composure is a band that has a really soft way about their music, and I really like it. I don't think it really classifies as shoegaze (alternative rock), but my interest in the genre is probably why I like their music as well. A lot of their songs have a short guitar intro with drums, followed by vocals. As I do with all music, I just let spotify recommend things similar to my taste. It works, but it means I just cherrypick whatever suits my ears, not fully knowing many albums.

POLYPHIA
POLYPHIA

Polyphia Renaissance is a work of art. It is one of the only albums I can listen to full-length, it is very beautiful and I love guitar. Tim never fails to amaze me in his skills.

SUBLIME
SUBLIME

I really like Sublime's sound. I know I'm SUPER late to the train, but my favorite songs are Doin' Time, Santeria, Smoke Two Joints, Badfish, 89 Vision, What I Got, and Lou Makes Friends. Chill and good, as all of life should be.

LOATHE
LOATHE

Loathe is an amazing band, I like them because they have shoe-gaze elements while being hardcore at times. They're like a better deftones, if deftones was more refined. I don't want to compare them to other artists, because Loathe really is a league of their own. My favorite songs are Is it Really You?, Two-Way Mirror, I Let it in and it Took Everything, and Screaming. I HIGHLY recommend you give them a listen.

JB
JUSTIN BIEBER

I ONLY listen to the 2009 album "My World". I mean, I know of other songs by him, but this album is so nostalgic. I really like Love Me, One Time, One Less Lonely Girl, and Favorite Girl. So cute. I also like how unlike modern (he was definitely pop, but it would be rude to those who helped him to state he wasn't RNB or Rap influenced) Rap "yeah I fucked that bitch so I guess u could say I respect women lol", it is a genuine (?) wholesome song. There are many modern artists who do the same thing, though.

CHRIS BROWN
PIERCE THE VEIL
PIERCE THE VEIL

fucking love their music. thank u vic fuentes and everyone else. that prob sounds shitty but oh well. they all (except that one guy) deserve respect but rlly.... IDKKK i love their music thanks. vic's vocals rlly make it tho. that's it idk.

SLOWDIVE
SLOWDIVE

I really love shoegaze and all of its glory. I know they're stupid popular for the genre and are seen as unoriginal, but my thoughts are that everything "basic" is popular for a reason. It's because they're good. I really like the vocals of slowdive, my favorite songs are Alison, When the Sun Hits, and probably some more that aren't off the top of my head.

MASS OF FERMENTING DREGS - WORLD IS YOURS
MASS OF FERMENTING DREGS - WORLD IS YOURS

This album COULD be compared to the previous one, a japanese instrumental-based album, but this time with stronger vocals. I am in love. I hope to have more time to listen to this a few more times.

Foo Fighters
FOO FIGHTERS

The Foo Fighters are really nostalgic to me, even my dad likes them. I really like their album "The Color And The Shape", their classic sound is amazing. Everlong and My Hero are amazing. Their soft sound is beautiful and will always hold a dear place in my heart.

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS

The Smashing Pumpkins is a band that I have sadly just recently gotten into, but I really like their songs Today, Quiet, Spaceboy, and Cherub Rock. Age of Innocence and Perfect are also good songs that I really enjoy. I mostly listen to Siamese Dream, though. I know I say this a lot, but I really like their sound.

VAGUE ENJOYMENT *

*Things I will still listen to occasionally, on the backburner. Not listed in any particular order.

Memo Boy
MEMO BOY

I Love Memo Boy. Gotta get that on a t-shirt or something. I love the song "Brian is the Most Beautiful" the cowbells, the little tune it has, the lack of words, I really enjoy it. This is a niche type of song I will listen to every once in a while, but when I do, it is all-consuming. I love this music so much. I also like the song "Insomniac".

Joyce Manor
JOYCE MANOR

I mostly like the song "Constant Headache", I think Joyce Manor is rock as well... I also like the song "Catalina Fight Song", but I'll listen to all of the album S/T if I have the chance.

Linkin Park
LINKIN PARK

I really like Linkin Park, and they were ahead of their game with mixing Hip Hop and Rock together. They still are such a unique sound, and I will forever miss them and love their music. My favorite album is Hybrid Theory, Meteora is a close second. Papercut, One Step Closer, High Voltage, A Place For My Head, In The End, By Myself.. I love the entire album.

System of A Down

Rihanna
RIHANNA

I've loved Rihanna ever since I was a kid, I used to love What's My Name, Man Down, and Rockstar 101. Right now I really like Sex With Me, Needed Me, James Joint, Loveeeeeee Song. She's really talented and one of my favorite pop artists.

Selena Gomez
SELENA GOMEZ

Right now I'm on a 2000s pop kick, I really like Selena's songs "Round and Round", "Falling Down", and that's about it. I just like those songs a lot, they make me feel happy.

ScHoolboy Q
SCHOOLBOY Q

ScHoolboy Q is an amazing rap artist, rlly good sound. I just like his music a lot. Man of the Year, Collard Greens, Dangerous.

Current Joys
CURRENT JOYS

Amazing sound. Really soft, nice, chill. I like the songs "Fear" and "Blondie". More of the bedroom pop thing, again, I am really bad at genres.

childish gambino
CHILDISH GAMBINO

I LOVE Childish Gambino, don't listen to him much. Favorite songs are "iii. Telegraph Avenue ("Oakland")", "i. The Worst Guys", "iii. Urn", "Heartbeat", "Fire Fly", and "Me and Your Mama". I've seriously been listening to Oakland and Urn on repeat recently, the sound is so good. I highly recommend. Please click the link.

La Dispute
LA DISPUTE

La Dispute is one of my favorite bands that scream. The way that the vocalist does it is just so good and fun to listen to. I really like "King Park" for its storytelling and emotion, "Andria", and "Such Small Hands".

$uicideboy$
$UICIDEBOY$

I really like their unique sound. My favorite songs are "All That Glitters Is Not Gold, But Its Still Damn Beautiful", "Avalon", Kill yourself part I II III & IV, "Harvest Moon", "...And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around", "122 Days", and "Coma".

The Smiths
THE SMITHS

I really love The Smiths. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now, This Charming Man, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, How Soon Is Now?, Girlfriend in a Coma. All wonderful. What a beautiful, soft voice to have and be able to perform with. How lovely.

Movements
MOVEMENTS

I like movements. I like the song Daylily. Some others, not too many. It's my favorite song of theirs.

Miguel
MIGUEL

I really like Miguel. His voice is so beautiful, and his music is amazing. "All I Want Is You", "How Many Drinks?", "Sure Thing", "Quickie", "Girl With The Tattoo Inter.lewd", and "Vixen" are awesome songs. Highly recommend.

SKRILLEX
SKRILLEX

JHENE AIKO
JHENE AIKO

I really, truly, enjoy Jhene Aiko's voice. She is so angelic, and as of recent I have been really into listening to her. My favorite songs as of recent by her are Moments, The Worst, Stay Ready (What A Life), and I'll Kill You (summer walker, but she is featured in this one). What a Life is such an excellent song, I highly recommend it. I really adore Kendrick Lamar as well, so hearing two voices together is like being blessed with holy ointment, hearing the voice of a cherub. It's truly a gift. I really enjoy her music, I cannot stress that enough.

A DAY TO REMEMBER
A DAY TO REMEMBER

I think in all honesty, ADTR should reserve it's own spot on here. I've loved this band since middle school, and even almost after highschool I still love them!

They're classified as pop-punk, and have some softer songs, but I really prefer their more un-refined, earlier sound. Take a listen if you want! I would always recommend at least a few songs

these are some of my favorite songs by the band, and I cannot express how much I absolutely love them. Every so often I find different songs that remain my favorite for a while, or go back to different ones from the past.

TWIN TRIBES
TWIN TRIBES

Twin Tribes is a really nice Darkwave band that I have been getting really into as of recent. I have some stuff of theirs on the way, and I am super excited! Some of my favorite songs include Avalon, Fantasmas, along with others. Their album "Ceremony" is my favorite so far, and I am really into their sound! Super cute and dark.

Feel free to listen to some of it below!

ROSETTA STONE
ROSETTA STONE

Rosetta Stone is another one of my favorite bands. They're still active today, you can visit their bandcamp and get some of their music from there. They have that 90's goth sound, of which, I REALLY enjoy. My favorite track is "People" from their album Seems Like Forever. Below you can find their top tracks :>) Please have a listen if you will!

here are a few songs! (hopefully)

SUSPIRIA
SUSPIRIA

Suspiria is a classic Goth Rock band, and I really like their sound. Allegedly a Dancefloor Tragedy always gets me up and moving, and while I haven't listened to all of their songs, I really like them!

SPITE
SPITE

I REALLY enjoy spite. I don't actually listen to them all that much, but sometimes I'll get a kick out of more metal music. My favorite songs are The Root of All Evil, The Offering, Kill or Be Killed, IED, Hangman and Made to Please. I really like the Root of All Evil because I love music where the screaming sounds like pig squealing, and that's what that song reminds me of. The best part is that their new releases hold up just as greatly as their older releases do. Well rounded good band that isn't getting worse as time goes on ! It's amazing to see.

SHIELDS
SHIELDS

Shields is absolutely one of my FAVORITE metal bands. They're not together anymore (as of 2017), and I found out about them after the fact of their splitting, but I REALLY love their songs. I may insert a spotify playlist for this one, idk I just love their music on almost all occasions.

sorry that it's off-center, but the song names wouldn't be seen otherwise. Have a fun listen if you want! And here, you can find their band merch.

THE CURE
THE CURE

I think The Cure sounds beautiful. So somber and melancholic, so soft and sweet. Very beautiful music. I highly recommend their songs. I really like all of Disintegration, and I like songs like "Lovesong", "The Funeral Party", "The Forest", ""Although I don't classify the entirety of The Cure's discography as "Goth" music, some of it definitely is. I like The Cure's albums "Disintegration" and "Faith" for the dark and soft sound they have.

ATTILA
ATTILA

Attila is a nice hardcore (?.. sorry, all of these are just rough drafts at the moment, I will delve into actual genres later on when I refine everything) band, and I'm more of a casual listener rather anything else, which is why they aren't on the 5 star spot. They definitely deserve it, I'm just not a huge fan even though I like their music.

3OH!3
3OH!3

very cool thank u 3oh!3

PHAIDIA
PHAIDIA

I first heard of Phaidia while listening to a deathrock playlist on youtube in order to find new music that I could potentially enjoy, and upon hearing "Dead End Love", I adored their music! I love their sound but aren't entirely lovestruck by them, so they go in this category.

THE WITCHING HOUR
THE WITCHING HOUR

The Witching Hour is a gothic band with a few hit songs that I really enjoy :>) I don't have much to say on them since I don't listen often, but if you haven't heard of them I would give them a go!

sorry there's only one song, it can be a bit hard to find their music and there aren't any one-video playlists on their music

OKAME-P
OKAME-P

Okame-P is an artist who mainly works with Hatsune Miku's voicebox, and for a while, unlike other artists who worked with the vocaloid interface, had a more metal sound to their songs. My favorite song currently by them is "Nothing I can't do".

KIKUO
KIKUO

Kikuo is another artist that utilizes the vocaloid interface, and is one of the more well-known songwriters out there. He usually creates songs that have heavy themes, which I appreciate. My favorite songs by him so far are Gomenne Gomenne and . One reason I like his songs is that there is usually a juxtaposition between the lyrics and the feel of the music, as he creates cutesy songs with dark meaning.

MERCIFUL NUNS
MERCIFUL NUNS

i'm not really that into merciful nuns which is why they're in this category, they're good, I just don't listen to them that much! I want to try and get into their music some more, though :>)

KENDRICK LAMAR
KENDRICK LAMAR

His voice is so unique. i love the notes he hits. he is hot as fuck. need i say more? DAMN is a work of art. thank you, kendrick.

KANYE WEST - GRADUATION
KANYE WEST - GRADUATION

I really like a lot of songs off of this album, including homecoming, goodnight, and will eventually list a few others. street lights & some of his other songs that aren't off of graduation are pretty good too, it just so happens that the ones i like most are off of this one album, LOL. haven't listened to all of donda yet but i don't even know if it'll happen at this point.. pretty solid w what i know at this point in time.

FAR CASPIAN - BETWEEN DAYS
FAR CASPIAN - BETWEEN DAYS

This is one of the few EP's that I will listen to full-length over and over again. I cannot seem to get enough of it, although I discovered it about a year ago, I just recently got into it again. This EP reminds me of being a warm lizard on a rock. It is joyful and a little romantic, I appreciate all of its content! Please give this a listen if by description alone you are interested.

MEN I TRUST
MEN I TRUST - ONCLE JAZZ

I really love the soft sound of Men I Trust, and I especially enjoy listening to their album, Oncle Jazz (as pictured here). Their songs are inspirational, I think I resonate most with their band title.

TYLER, THE CREATOR
TYLER, THE CREATOR

I like Tylers music, especially Cherry Bomb, Goblin, and Igor. Very good stuff. His song "FUCKING YOUNG / PERFECT" is really good, but has extremely questionable lyrics. These types of thing makes me question the man himself, but his music is good...? Idk.

MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND - HADES
MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND - HADES

This album/band is a japanese post-rock/noise-pop style, and I really enjoy it! I don't want to be classified as a weeb or oddly romanticize anything, but I don't know. I really enjoy the sound of this album, especially the guitar paired with the (sometimes) soft vocals. It's the perfect album for when you want to take a break from your other music tastes, while staying true to the fundementals you enjoy (for me, that mostly lies within guitar).
